Story Books

I have randomly collected  books for children both in English and Nepali.
Every Friday they borrow a story book and return on Sunday. I wish children develop reading habit. Teachers read stories before lunch and sometimes before nap time.

For the upper kindergarten  we had a  reading competition. Those who read the most got the Bookworm Award but the rest have to complete the desired number of books.  They began reading English books only after learning few tricky words.

Teaching Nepali Alphabets to beginners -Nursery

Nursery are the beginners who learn to read and write. I use sandpaper alphabet cards to teach Nepali . Children sing along while tracing the alphabets. Besides the small sized alphabet cards I use the large sandpaper alphabets pasted on the walls. I am careful not to use very rough sandpaper sheets. Tracing and singing goes well before writing.
