Addition practice

Upper kindergarten practiced addition using sticks, blocks and spindles. Each one had a sum card with no answer. They called their teacher to verify their answer. 

Number work for Nursery-1

Besides the Montessori  materials like the sand paper numbers, number rods and  spindle boxes  we  have few more exercises for practice. Nursery children  are learning to  relate  quantity to the symbol. Counting till five seems easy  for them but larger numbers are confusing like the dots on  frogs and bones.

I made this frog dot matching to the number from the site  http://www.kinderprintables.com/frog08/frogflipbookbw.pdf. I pasted them on the cardboard and covered with wide cello tape.

The numerals at the end of the tentacles indicate the number of marbles. The marbles are flat ones. The octopus drawing is pasted on a thick card board, colored with crayons and covered with cello tape.

Children played hopscotch inside. I pasted brown tape on the carpet and marked the numbers with white crayon. It was fun watching them play.
